3 States in 1 day

It's not every day that you can visit 3 states in 1 day!!!

Carthage Jail

What a trip

We have been trying to get to Nauvoo all summer. So this being the last weekend before school starts we thought we better make it work. Illinois is such a beautiful state & we were so excited to be able to see more of it. What can you say about Nauvoo other than you have to go there for yourself. To be able to see the Trail of Hope, Carthage Jail, Joseph Smiths home, the Nauvoo Temple, the Nauvoo Groves & so much more...what an amazing experience.

Yes, we are finally going

Since summer is almost over & we live just a couple miles from Six Flags we decided we better go check it out. We had a good time. Grayson was ecstatic when we saw Scooby Doo, they all loved being able to "drive" their own cars, Lindsey loved the Jetson roller coaster, & Abby loved everything. Going to Six Flags made it official...I am getting older & I do get motion sickness.

Finally

I know that a lot of you finished Sunday night, but I did it I finally finished Breaking Dawn. Now I can stop thinking about it every second I am not reading it & get on with my life. My kids will be so excited that this is all over. Hurray!!

Kids say the funniest things

The other day we were driving home from the store, & Derek said, "Look at the Canada goose standing right in the middle of the road." So they all look out the window & Lindsey says,"Is that goose looking both ways?" Canada Geese are everywhere here, none of us have ever seen so much wildlife in our entire lives.

Ouch!!

Poor Lindsey, she has gone from one ouchy to another on her little head. The most recent one was on Saturday, when she ran straight into the corner of the wall. The cut looked pretty deep so we ran her over to urgent care where they informed us they thought she would need 3 stitches. I don't think anyone young or old could have been as brave as she was. They asked her to hold still & she did (imagine that)!! She just laid there at let them stitch her up. No tears, no screaming, nothing.
